Young: Equal is seeking a passionate and organized individual to take on the role of Programming Director. This position will work closely with the regional manager to lead the creation, planning, and execution of local events. Our Mission:
We are driven with the purpose to create environments that promote self-acceptance, community, and love for the LGBTQ+ community. Young: Equal works with teen & young adult members of the LGBTQ+ community through creative arts & recreation to reaffirm the importance of one’s own identity. Through creative arts, recreation, and social media, Young: Equal creates safe spaces that set the wellbeing of LGBTQ+ teens & young adults as our top priority.
Responsibilities:
Event Planning and Execution:
Collaborate with the regional manager to conceptualize, plan, and execute local events that align with Young: Equal's mission.
Oversee all aspects of event logistics, including scheduling, venue coordination, and volunteer management.
Program Development:
Design and develop engaging programs that cater to the needs and interests of the LGBTQ+ community.
Work towards creating a diverse range of programs to ensure inclusivity and broad community appeal.
Collaboration with Stakeholders:
Liaise with community partners, organizations, and sponsors to enhance event opportunities and collaborations.
Foster positive relationships with local businesses and community leaders to support programming initiatives.
Team Coordination:
Lead and coordinate a team of volunteers in the planning and execution of events.
Work collaboratively with other organizational teams to ensure cohesive and integrated programming efforts.
Qualifications:
Strong organizational and project management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Creative thinking and the ability to innovate in event planning.
Passion for promoting inclusivity and support for the LGBTQ+ community.
Time Commitment:
This is a volunteer position with a flexible time commitment, adapting to the demands of event planning and execution schedules.
